how to find us

The Project is located on Whitehawk Hill near the racecourse. Look out for a large, red metal cargo container by the path and the tall woven fences that surround the plot. We have the only 2 polytunnels on the hill so look out for them! If you get lost please ask allotment holders or dog walkers as they will probably be able to help direct you. You can call Jacob on 0775 107 6395 or John 07900 126 817 anytime.

On foot from the south

You can access the plot on foot from Whitehawk Hill Road. Come up Whitehawk Hill Road and turn right through the gate just before the mast.Head downhill through the allotments until you see our tall woven fences and polytunnels.

On foot from the north

From the roundabout at the top of Queensway and Manor Road, head about 50m down Manor road, and cross over the racetrack. With your back to the racecourse stand, follow the LEFT path (NOT the one towards the mast). There is a 3ft gate on the way which we leave open on workdays, but is fairly easy to climb over if it is locked .This will lead you to the site on your left (look out for the red metal container).

Bus

The 21 and the 2 stop near the mini roundabout at the top of Queensway. From here, follow directions for arriving on foot from the north.

The 37 stops near the allotment site. Ask for St John's Primary School. Then head up Whitehawk Hill Road (see on foot from the south section).

Pushchairs, wheelchairs etc

The easiest access route is from the top. Paths here are a little wider and smoother... It's still a bumpy ride, but an ordinary buggy should manage. Sorry, but it is not wheelchair accessable at present.

Car

Try parking on the track above where Whitehawk Hill Road runs out. Please leave space for other vehicles to get access to the tv mast. Alternatively you could use the car park at the Wyevale garden centre, just north of the racecourse buildings. From here, head down Freshfield Road to the roundabout and follow the directions from the north as shown above.
